Nightmare Dread Fortress to Maintain HP Levels

Hey folks,

I spoke with the team regarding this, and the health of the bosses in NiM Dread Fortress being left at Nightmare values after the removal of Nightmare Power was intentional. There was some feedback regarding the reversion to Hard Mode values and so the HP was left unchanged.

The removal of Nightmare Power does still lower the damage dealt by the bosses.

Dread Master Brontes Part One

Facelimb x6 Combo by Ortheka
Oh the horror!

I vowed when I begun this personal project of writing guides for SW:TOR that I wouldn't cut corners. I wouldn't say "the boss does an AoE that hurts," but rather explain the mechanics of that AoE (whether it projects on the ground, on a player, on the boss), the cast times, the cooldowns, the damage type, etc. so that there was a compilation of easy to access information for all.

While I write these guides purely for personal entertainment, I cannot help but wonder what I got myself into after the grueling hours spent working on the Dread Master Brontes guide. Writing the guide makes the fight seem easy!

The worst part of it all? I'm not even close to being done!

The Mechanics section is in acceptable condition and usable in its current form. I have not even begun the strategy section, though I intend on completing it at least before next week.

I hope that what is currently available is of use to some people, and that the information is presented both in a readable and understandable format. But with such a complex fight, it's difficult to avoid the inevitable "wall of text". I assure you that the information is relevant, and you'll be a better raider or raid leader for knowing its intricacies.

With all that said, here is Part One of the Dread Master Brontes guide. Feedback would be great, corrections would be even better. User submitted, hi-res pictures would be the best! Thanks to those who use this site! Your silent eyeballs make this mildly worthwhile!

Patch 2.7.2

Flashpoints + Operations
  • Gate Commander Draxus can longer be summoned and defeated multiple times per Dread Fortress lockout.
  • Fixed an issue where Nefra, Who Bars The Way would not attack players standing in certain areas of her room in the Dread Fortress.
  • Corrected an issue which unintentionally granted Energy Spheres immunity to Challenging Call and Threatening Scream during the Dread Master Brontes encounter in Dread Fortress.

Not surprising that they would fix these bugs, though multiple Draxus kills could have been pretty nice in those early stages of gearing! As for the taunt issues, I believe one of our tanks had been complaining about taunts not working on the Energy Spheres, so that's a welcome fix.

Progress is Beautiful

Written and Illustrated by Paul Connolly
So I've been pretty busy since the release of 2.7 and Nightmare Dread Fortress. Between <Failure> steamrolling through the first four bosses and real life undergrad work coming to a head, I've simply had no drive or energy to work on the guides (senior year papers make any additional writing feel like a bad rash in your brain).

What I can say is that I've procrastinated my way through the worst of my senior year of college and am now getting the itch to revamp and write the guides for Dread Fortress. My goal over the next couple days is to get everything up through Corruptor Zero written and to start expanding the audience other than <Failure> and the few other friends I have on the server.

If this is your first time reading this, I welcome you to my little side project and hope it helps your guild progress through the content. Comments, criticism, and suggestions are extremely helpful and encouraged! In addition, start spreading the word! Give it to your friends, your fellow guildies, or your rival guilds if you think Fail Raid is terrible and will cause some wipes!
